Purpose

Information can be shown in many different ways and infographics are a perfect way to condense a large amount of information inside a digestible form. VR (virtual reality) has been a growing interest of mine and I wanted to explore how I can properly teach the interesting history within a clean design. I was inspired by the game and movie Tron aesthetic and future technology to help aid in my design. VR has an interesting history that I pulled apart and showed it within the context in a visually dynamic way.

Process

I began researching and sketching ideas that would work as an infographic. I searched through my passions and tried to find something that was current and no one has done yet. Grabbing the history of an industry isn’t difficult yet displaying the necessary information within a confining place was a challenge. I kept the colour scheme consistent to Tron and help give contrast on the dark background. All the icons were done originally in Illustrator along with the clipped images.

Final Outcome

The final design was given to my teacher in BCIT to evaluate and was given high marks. I’m proud of how the design looks and would make slight alterations such as spacing to make it even better. All the information is given clearly and there is a nice flow on how to read everything.
